A lantern, a speaker and a power bank in one device saves space at the campsite. This guide covers what to check before you buy.
Light
Look for more than one lighting mode. Warm light is easier on the eyes in a tent; cool white light is better for tasks like cooking or fixing gear. Check whether the lamp can be used while the speaker is playing, and whether you can hang the lantern.
Sound
Speaker power in watts and the number of drivers give a rough idea of volume. Bluetooth range matters at a campsite, and some speakers can pair with a second unit for stereo sound.
Battery and power bank function
Check the battery capacity, how long the manufacturer says it runs, and whether it can charge your phone. Using the speaker and lamp as well as charging a phone will shorten the run time.
Water resistance
Look for an IP rating on the product page. In the rating, the second digit describes water protection: for example, IPX4 covers splashes, while higher numbers such as IPX6 cover stronger water jets. Do not rely on a rating that is not stated.
Care and safety
- Do not cover a lantern or power bank while it is charging.
- Keep it away from heat and flames.
- Do not leave it charging unattended.
