Apple changed the iPhone connector, so the right cable depends on your model. This guide explains the difference and how to charge faster.
Which iPhone uses which connector?
- iPhone 15 and later models use USB-C.
- Earlier iPhones, up to the iPhone 14 series and the third-generation iPhone SE, use Lightning.
If you are not sure, check the port on your phone or your model in Settings.
Which cable gives faster charging?
For fast charging you need a charger that supports USB Power Delivery (PD), and a USB-C cable (USB-C to USB-C for newer iPhones, USB-C to Lightning for older ones). An older USB-A charger and cable will charge more slowly.
When a 4-in-1 cable helps
A 4-in-1 cable combines USB-C and Lightning connectors (and USB-A adapters) in one cable, which suits households that mix iPhones, Android phones and laptops.
